Nalus are very known in Guinea-Bissau for their polychromic statuettes which recall a little these large colonial statuettes to breast height that one found at the entrance of houses. Nalus becoming increasingly orthodoxe in their Islam, these statuettes have often nothing any more for them but one esthetic value. Their mask are also internationally recognized as among most beautiful.
